For Sale: VRIPACK-69 Explorer Yacht – €1,200,000 of Pure Adventure
A 21m steel-hulled passagemaker with a 2,900nm range, classic Dutch design, and all the comforts for serious bluewater cruising.
If you're after a true go-anywhere explorer yacht—one with proper bluewater credentials, a tough steel hull, and a timeless design—then this VRIPACK-69 might just be your ticket to adventure. Built in 2004 by KIM’s YACHT Co. in China under the watchful eye of Lloyd’s Register of Shipping, she follows in the footsteps of the legendary Doggersbank™ series, a name synonymous with robust, long-range trawler yachts. And after an extensive refit from 2020 to 2023, she’s in prime condition and ready to take on the world’s oceans.
At 21.15 metres in length, with a generous 5.85-metre beam and a displacement of 108 tonnes, she’s a serious little ship, not just a floating holiday home. The steel hull and aluminium superstructure ensure long-term durability, while her four watertight compartments add to the safety factor. Designed with the philosophy of self-sufficiency and long-range cruising, she’s ideal for owner-operators or those wanting to run with minimal crew.
Power comes from a pair of bulletproof CATERPILLAR 3306B diesel engines, each producing 235HP. At an economical 8 knots, she sips fuel at just 40 litres per hour, giving her an impressive 2,900 nautical mile range. Push her to 12 knots if needed, but this explorer yacht is all about comfortable, steady passagemaking, backed up by Naiad Koopnautic fin stabilisers for a smooth ride even in lively conditions.
Step aboard via the extended swim platform, and you’ll find a rather unique touch; a moveable fishing luxury armchair. Whether you're serious about landing a monster catch or just want a comfortable perch over the water, it’s a nice little nod to the yacht’s explorer-meets-sportfisher personality.
Inside, she offers a warm and inviting space, finished in classic Dutch style with satin-varnished teak throughout. The saloon is a proper living space, with a large L-shaped sofa in soft leather, integrated storage, and even a bar area with dedicated wine bottle stowage. The galley is practical, with secure stowage for cooking at sea, Corian worktops, and quality stainless steel fittings.
Accommodation is well thought out, with three guest cabins, each with its own bathroom, plus a separate day head on the lower deck. The owner’s cabin forward is spacious, with a king-size bed and a private ensuite, while the two guest cabins offer twin berths. For longer passages, the dedicated crew cabin forward with two berths keeps things running smoothly.
Up on the bridge, it’s the best seat in the house. The 360-degree panoramic views make it a joy to command, with an observation lounge for guests to soak in the experience. With remote engine controls that can be positioned on the sundeck or port/starboard sides, docking is a breeze.
Speaking of outdoor spaces, the sundeck is built for entertaining. A large dining table, an outdoor bar, and plenty of space for lounging mean you can soak up the sun wherever your travels take you—whether that's the Med, the Caribbean, or even venturing into Arctic waters. With a proper round-bilged hull, this yacht is built for serious exploration.
Behind the scenes, she’s just as impressive. Two 24kW Northern Lights generators keep everything powered up, and the SeaMak watermaker (new in 2022) provides up to 4,500 litres per day—ideal for long stints away from shore. The hydraulic power pack runs everything from the bow thruster to the stabilisers and autopilot, ensuring smooth operation across all systems. There’s even a military-grade alternator setup for ultimate reliability.
This VRIPACK-69 is an explorer in the truest sense. She’s a classic steel ship with modern equipment, an explorer yacht that blends reliability, comfort, and even a touch of sportfishing flair. Lying in Athens and priced at €1,200,000 (with EU VAT included), she’s a serious vessel for a serious yachtsman.
